Malaysia Makes Early Preparation For World Skills Competition In Brazil

SEPANG (Selangor, Malaysia), Oct 30 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian contingent will make early preparation for the World Skills Competition (WorldSkills) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in Aug 2015. Deputy Minister of Human Resources Ismail Abdul Muttalib said despite stiff competition, Malaysia will try the best to win the gold, silver or bronze medals. "We will review the performance of our medal winners at the 10th Asean Skills Competition (ASC) in Hanoi," he told reporters upon his arrival from Hanoi at KL International Airport Wednesday night with the national contingent. Ismail led the Malaysian contingent to the ASC from Oct 19 to Oct 28. He said the ASC was a huge success as it saw the potential of Malaysia in so many fields of skills. Malaysia won nine gold, five silver and four bronze medals, the best achievement since the first competition in 1995. All nine gold medals were won by participants in hair dressing, beauty therapy, fashion technology, cooking, pipes and heating works, freezer and air-conditioning, computer network system and mechanical engineering design. Malaysia was placed second overall behind Vietnam which won 15 gold medals. -- BERNAMA
