Palvai to KCR: Build barrages to tap power

He blamed the Congress and the Telugu Desam for the power crisis

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said he was not against the ordinary people. “You are living in Telangana. Let us all develop the region. I will pump in Rs 10,000 crore. Please ex-tend support to the TRS government. The poor will get pucca houses, flats, house sites where they live. Every eligible poor person will get ration card and other welfare schemes,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the Telangana government would invite investors from all parts of the country and the world including Andhra Pradesh.

Accusing “Andhra rulers” of destroying Hyderabad, he alleged that AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was trying to “scare” pe-ople living in the twin cities. Mr Naidu deserves the Nobel prize “for being the biggest liar in the country,” Mr Rao said. “Don’t fall prey to Mr Naidu’s game plan,” he said

“They neglected Telan-gana and destroyed Hyd-erabad city. Mr Naidu promised to waive '1.54 lakh crore farm and Dwcra loans but went back on his promise,” he said.

Mr Rao reiterated that the Chanchalguda Jail, and the Hyderabad Race Course at Malakpet whi-ch he called the “centre of gambling” would be shifted outside the city and the place would be used for educational pu-rposes.

Gambling dens would be wiped out from the city and the state, he said.

“Some Andhra leaders who own gambling dens are angry over its closu-re. They are destroying Hyderabad, its people and its culture,” Mr Rao said.

The Chief Minister asked the crowd to raise their hands if they backed the closure of gambling dens.

The huge crowd at the TKR grounds, where two Telugu Desam MLAs, Teegala Krishna Reddy (Maheswaram), Talasani Srinivas Yadav (Sanathnagar), and and MLC Vullolla Gangadhar (Nizamabad) joined the TRS, raised their hands in support.

“Naidu claims he developed Hyderabad. What did Quli Qutb Shah did? Should he commit suicide with Mr Naidu comments? I don’t know Mr Naidu’s high tech and low tech, but there was no development of Hyderabad under Andhra rulers. One big rain and there is water logging near Raj Bhavan, CM’s camp office, Assembly. Slums have mushroomed. Land sharks have knocked away huge tracts of lands while the huts of the poor were pulled down,” he said.

The Chief Minister promised a congenial environment for growth of the Telugu film industry in Telangana and said he would create facilities for shooting of Hollywood films here.

He blamed the Congress and the Telugu Desam for the power crisis.

Hyderabad would be developed into an international city on the lines Istanbul, with roads like in the US and London and it would be made a slum free city with the best infrastructure.

The government would send a team of officials and legislators to Istanbul to study the city and the development measures, he said.

“Naidu removes the fuse and talks about power crisis here. “We have planned for 14,000 mw in there years and there will be no power cuts thereafter,” he said.
