FUNCOM N.V. ANNOUNCES THAT OLE SCHREINER IS STEPPING DOWN AS CEO FOR THE COMPANY


(Oslo Bors Newsfeed Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Ole Schreiner has decided to leave the Management Board and Michel Cassius will temporarily join to strengthen the overall management in order to help Funcom N.V. to find a new CEO.

Funcom N.V. announced today that Ole Schreiner has decided to step down as CEO of Funcom and will resign from the Management Board of Funcom N.V. Mr.

Schreiner will continue with the company in a role similar to his previous position as Chief Operating Officer. The Management Board of Funcom has given a temporary mandate to Michel Cassius to lead the Management team and to represent the company until a general meeting of shareholders will be held as early as possible. This is to help drive Funcom's current initiatives and strategic direction of the company until the appointment of a new CEO.



"The past couple of years serving as CEO of Funcom has been a very exciting journey for me personally, and during that time we have made several important strides including successfully restructuring the company and taking LEGO Minifigures Online from concept to reality," says Ole Schreiner. "I have now expressed my desire to the board to go back to a more operational role and I am very happy that the board has accepted my request." Mr. Schreiner will continue to work hands-on with all operational aspects of the company.

"Ole Schreiner has and continues to be a key executive in Funcom and he has been able to restructure the company, while keeping its core value and laying the groundwork for the future. We are pleased to see that he will continue in Funcom in his new role", says Gerhard Florin, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Funcom N.V. "We are now starting the search for a new CEO. During that transition, we also want to strengthen the management and strategic capabilities of the business. Michel Cassius is the ideal person for this with his years on the Supervisory Board, his knowledge of the Company, and his extensive experience in the games industry", he added.


As part of the transition Michel Cassius will temporarily lay down his duties as member of the Supervisory Board of Funcom N.V.
