The exhibition of the HX 250R at the American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) is seen as a certain sign that the HX 250R will be a global product and may be sold in US as well, once production commences in India.

The Hero HX 250R was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo and technical specifications were also made public. Since then, there’s been considerable buzz around a possible early 2015 launch date in India, but there’s been no confirmation from Hero MotoCorp yet about any launch dates in either India or US.

To be positioned above the Karizma ZMR, the HX 250R will be powered by a 249cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine which produces 31PS maximum power and 26Nm peak torque, couple to a six-speed gearbox.

Hero MotoCorp is a minority stakeholder in EBR and the HX 250R has been designed and developed with inputs from Eric Buell’s engineering group.
