10 Essential Music Documentaries From The Last 10 Years

The Foo Fighters are the most recent band to be featured in a music documentary with the HBO docu-series Sonic Highways, but the show is hardly the only recent rock doc worth watching. A long-standing genre, the rock doc generally pairs good tunes with stellar imagery, combining standard documentary aesthetics with concert footage. While the biggest standouts in the genre are classics like Gimme Shelter, The Last Waltz, Stop Making Sense, and Madonna: Truth or Dare, there have been numerous offerings released in the last decade that are definitely worth your streaming time.
