(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MADISON, Fla., Oct. 27 -- North Florida Community College issued the following news release: North Florida Community College is waiving its regular $20 application for admission fee for those applying to the College's new Automation and Production Technology certificate program for Spring Term 2015. The new program, set to begin Jan. 7, is designed to offer training and industry recognized credentials for employment in the manufacturing industry.



The 600-hour Post Secondary Adult Vocational (PSAV) certificate program teaches students the latest in advanced manufacturing equipment and technology through hands on practical experience including specialized training with robotic systems technology, 3D printing systems, hydraulic systems, electronics, pneumatic systems and computer-aided design (CAD) software as well as a broad foundation of knowledge and skills focused on workplace safety, quality control and employability skills. Students will also have the opportunity to earn the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician industry credential upon completion of the program.

The program is program is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Labor and U.S. Department of Education Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant program. It is one of three new programs being offered through the NFCC XCEL-IT program with TAACCCT funding. Additional programs include Network Security and Business Development and Entrepreneurship; both enrolling now.
