Hardide beefs up manufacturing capacity

Hardide, a provider of advanced surface-coating technology, has increased capacity at its manufacturing facility in Bicester by nearly 50 per cent to "cope with rising demand".

The Oxfordshire company installed a third large capacity reactor and will be recruiting up to three additional operations staff.

It said this was part of an investment programme to meet increasing demand for its range of tungsten carbide based coatings.

Chief executive Philip Kirkham said: "The installation of a third large capacity reactor at our plant in Bicester will enable us to process increased production volumes while maintaining our active R&D programme which feeds the pipeline of new applications and underpins the development of new Hardide coating technologies and applications."

Hardide also revealed that planning is at an "advanced stage" for a potential new production facility in North America.
