BANGALORE: Want to know whether your child is studying in a recognized school? And if it is CBSE, ICSE or a state board? Simply log in to a few websites.
A week after the
education department unearthed irregularities in a North Bangalore school which had permission to run a Kannada medium school but was offering CBSE syllabus instead, the department swung into action on Tuesday.
It released the list of recognized and affiliated schools – both for central and state syllabus.
One can check whether the school is affiliated to any of these boards by keying in the school’s name, affiliation number or name of the area.
From next academic year, the new facility will also help parents to check the affiliation status of schools before applying for their children’s admissions. The website has listed 2,750 state unaided schools in Bangalore following state board along with their addresses and phone numbers of the principals. This means if any school’s name is
missing, it is unauthorized. Of these, 1,704 schools are in Bangalore South, 928 in Bangalore North and 118 in Bangalore Rural.
