1984 riot case witness seeks Amitabh Bachchan's arrest
AMRITSAR: The prime witness in the anti-Sikh riots case against senior Congress leader Sajjan Kumar has demanded immediate arrest of Bollywood mega star Amitabh Bachchan for allegedly instigating the mob by shouting "khoon ka badla khoon say lenge" (blood for blood ) on October 31, 1984, following then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's killing.
The witness, Jagdish Kaur, said Bachchan's action, captured on TV, had triggered the massacre of Sikhs across the nation.

Kaur reiterated her demand for Bachchan's arrest on Tuesday after a US court summoned the actor for instigating violence against Sikhs.
While talking to TOI, Kaur said she had seen the mega star on TV, calling for revenge killings. She said Indira Gandhi's assassin Beant Singh was shot while Satwant Singh was left half dead. "Blood for blood justice was done there and then, so why were so many innocent Sikhs killed," she asked
Jagdish Kaur, who had lost her husband Kehar Singh, son Gurpreet Singh and brothers Narinderpal Singh, Baldeep Singh and Raguvinder Singh in the resulting massacre, said "Amitabh's slogan added fuel to the fire and took the lives of thousands of innocent Sikh men and women."
She wondered why the government had not been able to take any action against Amitabh even 30 years after the incident. "There is plenty of evidence against him, the TV recordings have all the details, why doesn't the government look at these and take action against him?" she said.
On December 1, 2011, Amitabh had sent a sealed letter to Akal Takht Jathedar, denying allegations about his role in the 1984 riots through Mumbai Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Commtitee member Gurinder Singh Bawa.
Even Babu Singh Dukhia , another riot victim had claimed to have seen Bachchan on Doordarshan, raising this provocative slogan.
