MANGALORE: Kuppagadde in Soraba taluk of Shimoga district recorded maximum rainfall of 119.5mm in Karnataka in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on October 28. Shettikeri hobli in Chikkanayakanahalli taluk of Tumkur district recorded maximum temperature of 39.2°C on October 27 at 3.45pm. Halburga hobli in Bhalki taluk of Bidar district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 10.4°C on October 28 at 6.45am.

Maximum temperature rose at few places over north interior Karnataka, Malnad region and coastal Karnataka and changed little over remaining parts of the state. Minimum temperature fell at isolated places over north interior Karnataka and changed little over remaining parts of the state. More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 65% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 0% geographical area in the state.
Rainfall over the state is considered as scattered since 42% of the hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall of =2.5mm. Heavy rain was recorded in 21 gram panchayats, rather heavy rain in 68 GPs; moderate rain in 318 gram panchayats; light rain in 227 GPs; very light rain in 271 GPs; and no rain in remaining 1,017 GPs.
Karnataka for period from October 22 to October 28 recorded surplus rainfall of 120%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 26mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 57.1mm.
For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on October 28, four geographical regions received 7mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 3.5mm, a 99% surplus departure from normal.
