Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their interest in signing Heerenveen midfielder Daley Sinkgraven.

According to the Mirror, Louis van Gaal has asked his scouts to give him detailed reports on the youngster and is keen to get a deal done with the Dutch club in January.

The former Bayern Munich coach has recently gone into over drive as he is aware of interest from clubs like Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona for the youngster.

Even if United do get a deal done for the youngster in January, it is most likely that he will remain with the Eredivisie club for the remainder of the campaign and continue his football development with his current employers.

Apart from the above mentioned clubs, Dutch giants Ajax are also interested in signing the youngster and had contacted him during the summer transfer window.

"I just want to do my best at SC Heerenveen and I hope to ever make the step to a higher club," Sinkgraven said, as quoted by Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

"There has been contact with Ajax, but that's not important right now. I focus on SC Heerenveen."

The Dutch youngster's coaches have made him aware of the talent he possesses, but he remains focused on the job at hand and believes that if he does his best, the opportunity to play for Barcelona will arrive in the future.

"Youth coaches sometimes tell me I can become a great, but that it would require me to get everything out of my career. To now say that I am going to play for Barcelona one day, well, I can't of course," the Dutchman added.

"I have to give 100% in each and every training session and be the best. You can't go from Heerenveen to Barcelona without taking a stepping stone."

However, Heerenveen manager Dwight Lodeweges has requested teams not to make a move for the Dutch U21 international and let him play for his team for a few more years. But the coach has also made it clear that any interested club must be willing to pay a top price to sign the midfielder.

"Please let him stay with us for a few years. Even if he is sold, we will demand a top price for him. Daley has incredible talent," Lodeweges said, as quoted on talkSPORT.
