Duggu’s injury pushes Ashu’s film to January
The filmmaker has decided to wait till the actor is fighting fit before he rolls with his period love story early next year.

Hrithik Roshan, who was gearing up to flag off his next film, Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Mohenjo Daro, has been grounded. He injured his shoulder while working out in the gym and the doctor has strictly advised him a six-week rest. This means that the period love story and epic adventure, which was to flag off at the end of November, has been postponed.

But Ashutosh is not tearing his hair over the unexpected delay. According to a source close to the filmmaker, he has taken the injury in his stride and given Hrithik an additional three weeks to recuperate.

“Mohenjo Daro is a physically demanding film with some challenging action sequences which will be shot in the first schedule itself. Both Ashutosh and Hrithik being the perfectionists that they are did not want to shoot these scenes with a body double. Ashutosh has decided to push the shoot to next year so that Hrithik is fighting fit, lean and strong, when he reports on the sets,” added the source.

Confirming this producer Sunita Gowariker told Mirror, “ Yes, it is true that we have postponed the shoot of Mohenjo Daro. Both Ashutosh and I wanted Hrithik to recuperate fully before beginning the film since we plan to start with action sequences. Now we will start shooting in the first week of January. It is important to us that Hrithik is 100 per cent fit and shifting the shooting dates by a few weeks makes a lot of sense.”

We texted Hrithik but he was unavailable for comment.
