Hilary Duff, ex Mike Comrie have Halloween party date night

Hilary Duff and her estranged husband Mike Comrie might have some explaining to do.

The “Lizzie McGuire” alum stepped out with Comrie, from whom she separated in January, at a Halloween party Friday, People and Us Weekly reported.

Duff, 27, arrived at the Casamigos Tequila party in Los Angeles dressed as a glittering fairy, hand in hand with her tuxedo-clad date. The pair’s affection was on full display as they made their way into the party past a throng of photographers.

So, they totally wanted people to see them together then, right? Separation, schmeparation.

The “Chasing the Sun” singer and the former NHL star were married for three years before announcing their split in January. They’ve remained close as they co-parent their 2-year-old son, Luca.

“I’m separated from my husband right now, which has been a very difficult thing to go through, but we have a lot of love for each other and we have this beautiful baby,” Duff told Billboard in July.

“Maybe we’re not meant to be together, or maybe we are,” the singer-songwriter said of a certain track about him on her upcoming album. “It’s very, very personal.”

As of last month, they still hadn’t filed for divorce.

Her fifth album was supposed to be released in October but was delayed in August. Guess this is one way to stay in the news.

Meanwhile, the actress-singer has addressed and dismissed her former flame Aaron Carter’s very public professions of love -- you know, those quasi-embarrassing remarks that he made about still holding a torch for his onetime girlfriend and his plans to “sweep her off her feet” if he could.

“Ugh! I don’t know!” Duff said on “Watch What Happens Live” this month about Carter’s feelings for her. “I don’t know what to say about it! It was so many years ago. I literally haven’t seen him in ... so, it’s uncomfortable.”

Surely not as uncomfortable as going to a party with your ex and dealing with the aftermath.
