Bolton schoolteacher guilty of IS terror plan

Chemistry teacher Jamshed Javeed has pleaded guilty to two Syria-related terror offences.

Javeed, 30, of Levenshulme in Manchester, who taught at Sharples High School in Bolton, was accused of encouraging acts of terror by helping nine people travel to Syria.

Det Chief Supt Tony Mole of North West Counter Terror Unit said there was no indication he wanted to be a fighter for a terrorist organisation.
