There’s no voice more soothing for storytime than “Reading Rainbow’s” LeVar Burton. He treated the assembled audience to an unexpected book reading at a 24-hour Extra Life stream for the podcast Rooster Teeth.
The charity drive raised money for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals with Burton providing a few readings, including Adam Mansbach and Ricardo Cortes’ decidedly more adult children’s book “Go the F–k to Sleep.”

The original audiobook was recorded by Samuel L. Jackson, who is a perfect choice for the frustrated narrator who desperately wants his child to stop with all the questions and excuses and just go … well, you know.
In keeping with the spirit of the revived “Reading Rainbow,” which also received a huge boost thanks to a monumental Kickstarter campaign that netted it more than $5 million in donations, Burton also endorsed and read from more traditional fare from the world of children’s literature, including his own book “The Rhino Who Swallowed a Storm.”
