Paris Saint-Germain turned up the heat on Ligue 1 leaders Marseille by brushing aside Bordeaux 3-0 at the Parc des Princes.

Two penalties from Lucas Moura for the reigning league champions, the first just before half-time and the second in the 49th minute, were followed by an 81st-minute effort from Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Both Paris Saint-Germain and Bordeaux had a player sent off for overly robust challenges in the first half, with the hosts losing Gregory van der Wiel and the visitors forced to cope without Andre Poko.

Victory lifted the Parisians clear of their visitors, with whom they had shared second place heading into the game, and narrowed the gap to leaders Marseille to four points.

Marseille have a testing away fixture at Lyon on Sunday.

PSG manager Laurent Blanc said: "At 10 against 10, the match became more complicated and the spectacle suffered.

"It's been a hard earned victory but we're seeing a lot of positive aspects. It's really very good what the players are achieving at the moment.

"There is a lot of individual and collective satisfaction."

Goalscorer Lucas added on Paris Saint-Germain's website: "I'm very happy, that's my first double for Paris. We worked hard and we have to continue like that. We're capable of doing very well."

Last season's runners-up Monaco suffered a miserable start to their campaign but Leonardo Jardim's team's form is picking up, exemplified by a 3-1 win at Bastia.

Valere Germain gave Monaco a fifth-minute lead that was soon countered by an equaliser from Christopher Maboulou, but Geoffrey Kondogbia restored the visitors' lead in the 78th minute, and six minutes later Yannick Carrasco made the points safe.

Monaco nudged up to sixth place, while Nantes rose to third place - ahead of Bordeaux - after a 2-0 win at Evian, secured by a penalty from Jordan Veretout after 42 minutes and Yacine Bammou's goal with 15 minutes remaining.

Caen beat Lorient 2-1, with a third-minute opener from Lenny Nangis and a penalty from Mathieu Duhamel in the 53rd minute. Jordan Ayew had hauled Lorient level with a spot-kick in the 24th minute.

Reims left it late, with substitute Benjamin Moukandjo popping up in the 90th minute to secure a 1-0 home win over Montpellier.
