A woman working for a Hinjewadi-based software firm, who was found in a semi-conscious state near a park, has told police that she fainted after eating food offered by a “foreigner”. When she was found near Anand Park in Kate Puram chowk on Friday night, she was in a semi-clad condition. An offence has been registered at Sangvi police station and a suspect has been arrested. Police said the 30-year-old woman from Madhya Pradesh, a divorcee, said in her statement that she came across the foreigner, who she identified as Ash, at a coffee shop in Aundh around 6 pm on Friday. They went to a garden in Aundh around 8 pm, where the foreigner reportedly gave her some bakery product, which she ate and fainted. She was found near Kate Puram chowk. A citizen helped her to reach a government hospital and informed cops. Police said her identity card revealed her workplace and other details. Police said medical tests did not reveal rape.
