MYSORE: SamajaParivarthanaSamudaya (SPS) chief S R Hiremath on Saturday urged the chief minister Siddaramaiah to submit a detailed confidential report to the Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on the allegations against D K Shivakumar and DineshGundurao who are facing corruption charges and see to it that they are shunted out of state cabinet.
At a press meet here, he said the power minister D K Shivakumar is day dreaming about becoming a chief minister in the coming days and this has to be prevented at any cost by the people of this state who are well aware of corruption charges against D K Shivakumar and who is known for blatant violation of laws of the land.
Denying that he is soft cornered towards Siddaramaiah who is repeatedly defending D K Shivakumar and Dinesh Gundurao, Hiremath said Siddaramaiah has his own limitations.
“Still we have hope in Siddaramaiah who unlike his predecessors is not in favour of corruption” he clarified and said still there is time for Siddaramaiah to act. "I am hopeful that Siddaramaiah will act against corrupt ministers in his cabinet and set an example of cleansing the political system” he said. He clarified that he is not vindictive or working against any individual, he said and added "I am concerned about the people and country. "I have a larger goal and aim in life and not any individual or a politician is my target, I am the last person to indulge in character assassination of any individual politician” he clarified.
He said Arkavathy lay out denotification issue is a "Pandora box” and he lacks the wherewithal to take on all the corrupt politicians and officials in the state. "But I will nor defend if Siddaramaiah is found guilty in the Arkavathy denotification issue” he said.
Hiremath criticized the chief secretary kaushik Mukherjee for issuing notice to V Rashmi who has pointed out the Rs 100 crore corruption in ATI. "Mukherjee should be described as head clerk and not the chief secretary as he lacks the guts to initiate action boldly against the corrupt officials and this was evident in his many of the actions and orders” he added.
