“Spider-Man” star Andrew Garfield hosted an intimate Soho screening of Eddie Redmayne’s Stephen Hawking biopic, “The Theory of Everything,” days after its New York premiere this week.
“I haven’t had the opportunity to cheerlead in public [for Eddie] before — we do it in private all the time,” Garfield said, calling Redmayne “one of my closest friends.”
The actors were later seen at Locanda Verde.
Among other supporters of the film, “Billy Elliot” director Stephen Daldry flew in to moderate a Q&A on Monday at the Lotos Club with Redmayne and Felicity Jones, who said of Hawking: “When somebody asked him what’s the greatest mystery in the world, Stephen just paused and then wrote, ‘women.’”
