OWEN HEARY'S departure as Bohemians manager was confirmed last night and he is expected to be announced as new Sligo Rovers boss next week.

In what was his final game in charge, one of his former team-mates Jason Byrne did what he does best by scoring the winning goal against Derry City.

Wearing the captain's armband, Byrne may have been featuring for the last time and if it was his swansong then capping it off with a goal was apt. The veteran smashed in a penalty just to add to Dinny Corcoran's earlier strike after Bohs fought back from Mark Timlin's opener.
