GARY MCCABE bagged his 12th goal of the campaign from the penalty spot as Shamrock Rovers saw off Limerick at Tallaght Stadium.

Samuel Oji's clumsy trip on Ciaran Kilduff inside the box after 57 minutes allowed the attacker to bury his spot-kick to the left of Ali Abass.

Despite dominating the early stages, Rovers could have gone in behind at the break as Ian Turner's 40th-minute shot rattled the 'bar.

Once ahead, however, they were rarely troubled.

Robert Cornwall and McCabe were off-target with late chances as the Hoops held on to complete the campaign seven games unbeaten under Pat Fenlon.
