Khyber Agency: Explosive-laden vehicle caught in Landi Kotal

More than 60 terrorists have been killed while 25 have been injured in the search operation.

 QUETTA (Dunya News) — Pakistan Army’s operation Khyyber 1 in Khyber Agency is continuing successfully. Security forces foiled a terrorist attack by recovering 250 kilograms of explosives from a vehicle on Friday. More than sixty terrorists have been killed in the operation in the last eight days.

Today during a search operation in Landi Kotal bazaar, the security forces caught a van carrying explosives. The explosive material was placed in seven cans held inside the van.

The bomb squad team defused the bomb and the area has been sealed as the police are investigating into the incident. More than 60 terrorists have been killed while 25 have been injured in the search operation.

Among the terrorists killed in the operation was the son of banned organization Lashkar Islam’s head Mangal Bagh and commander Hanif. Moreover, as many as hundred terrorists have surrendered. The security forces also attacked and destroyed the terrorist hideouts.

According to military sources, three soldiers have been martyred and twelve have been injured in the ongoing operation.
The residents of the area have fled from their houses amid security threats. Some have also moved to Nangarhar, a province in Afghanistan. The army has claimed to continue the operation until the terrorists are wiped out of the area.
