Konkona stopped from visiting ‘single’ friend
Her director pal, Alankrita Shrivastava, says it is an attempt to evict her from her Yari Road apartment.

Last Monday, Konkona Sen Sharma was stopped from entering an apartment complex on Yari Road when she went to visit her director-friend Alankrita Shrivastava.

Alankrita, a former assistant of Prakash Jha, who had turned director with Turning 30, has been a resident of Pearl Heights for the past four years. But when Konkona tried to pass through the gates, the security on learning where she was headed, stopped her.

A friend of the actress, on request of anonymity, told Mirror, “Konkona was shocked and wanted to know the reason. But no one was ready to give her a proper answer."

Refusing to leave, Konkona then called Alankrita and informed her about the goings-on. Her friend rushed down to escort her up.

According to Alankrita, this is not a one-off incident but part of an attempt to evict her from the premises. She told Mirror that she has been asked by the building's society to vacate the flat, ASAP. “My society says that they have introduced a new rule which debars single women from living here. They are now harassing me so that I leave,” she said, adding,"They won't even allow my domestic help to enter the building and have stopped my dabbawalla too.”

The director claims that she has a registered lease agreement and so cannot be forced out.

When contacted, Sharmin, the building treasurer, did not deny the story. “I don’t take calls on festive days. Thank you very much,” she retorted abruptly and hung up.
