20 Yuva Morcha activists ransacked the restaurant
KOZHIKODE: BJP youth wing Yuva Morcha has taken a leaf out of the notorious Sreeram Sena in Karantaka and targeted a restaurant named ‘Down Town’ here on Thursday.
A group of some 20 Yuva Morcha activists ransacked the restaurant around 11a.m. alleging that it was a cover for immoral activities for youth. The agitators destroyed the window glass, glass doors, furniture and the compound screens of the open cafeteria.
The 10-month-old restaurant in the heart of the city was started by five youngsters hailing from Payyoli. The incident occurred soon after a visual was aired by a television channel that revealed a few youngsters involving themselves in intimate activities. One of the waiters inside the restaurant also was attacked by the agitators. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
U. Lazer, a resident of the locality, said that he had never come across any immoral incidents there and that the locals never experienced any misbehaviour from the visitors.
“We fear some larger conspiracy behind the attack,” he added. “If somebody has a complaint, they could have approached the police instead of attacking it,” he added.
