Mohit Chauhan releases his solo for a short film

We’ve followed him from his days with Silk Route. Khoon Chala stirred us and brought out the patriot in us. He also melted hearts with Pehli baar from Kaminey. Now he will be singing Aisee waisee dosti nahin, his solo number for a short film titled No 1 Yaari. The song, which has been written by Sonal Dabral and composed by Rajeev Bhalla, includes a lot of firsts for Mohit Chauhan, who has never sung a song for a short film. The famed singer has rendered intense, romantic and patriotic songs but has never sung a track solely on friendship. “No 1 Yaari is about true friendship and the memories associated with it. It revolves around three friends who visit their alma mater and take a trip down memory lane as they meet their school teachers and visit old hang-outs. The song is an anthem to friendship and talks about how friends dream together, what they planned and did together,” explains the singer as he describes the central plot of the song.
The song is, in fact, a tribute to his band mates from Silk Route. “It took me to my own school and college. I am from Nahal in Himachal Pradesh, and pursued my Masters in geogology from Himachal University. My departmentt was in Dharamsala which was a study area for geology,” elaborates Chauhan as he reminisces his college days.
Aisee waisee dosti nahin has a very youthful feel to it and several instruments have been used to create that feel. “Guitars, mandolins, accoustic drums, strings, electronic guitars have been used to make it uplifting, soulful and bouncy. When you hear the song, it sounds like a band is playing and has a very contemporary feel to it, “ explains Chauhan.
