James Toole is set make his Ireland debut alongside brother Josh after being called into coach Mark Aston's 20-man squad for Saturday's crucial European Championship clash with Scotland in Dublin.

Like Josh, who was man of the match in the Wolfhounds' opening 22-12 win over France, James plays his rugby league in Australia but has Irish heritage.

Aston also recalls veteran centre Stuart Littler, a former Ireland captain who is set to win his 16th cap at Tallaght Stadium.

Scotland coach Steve McCormack has made one change to the team that beat Wales 42-18, with uncapped forward Joe McLean taking the place of Jonathan Walker, who was given a one-match ban for a high tackle in last Friday's game in Workington.

McLean, 25, played under McCormack this summer for the University of Gloucestershire All Golds, where he is on a rugby league scholarship and doing a Masters degree.

"I'm completely overwhelmed by the news," said McLean. "I've been on a steep learning curve and I'm excited at the prospect of training and playing with the mix of players in the Scotland squad. The hard work starts now - I'll have to step my game up again."

Wales, who had eight men making their debuts against Scotland, could field their 500th registered player in Saturday's game against France in Albi with coach John Kear including four more uncapped players in his 19-man squad.

The new faces are St Helens' Matty Fozard, who returns early from a pre-booked holiday to play for his country, Barrow's Dalton Grant, North Wales Crusaders' Owain Griffiths and Paul Emanuelli, of South Wales Scorpions.

Ashley Bateman misses the trip due to an injured ankle while Joe Burke is also out for personal reasons.
