Norwich manager Neil Adams has confirmed playmaker Wes Hoolahan will be sidelined "for a number of weeks" with ankle ligament damage.
The Republic of Ireland international sustained the injury during the 1-0 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage last Saturday.
He missed the 1-1 draw at home to Leeds on Tuesday and saw a specialist on Wednesday which revealed the extent of the problem.
Adams told the club's official website: "Wes went to see the specialist on Wednesday and he's going to be out for a number of weeks.
"It's ankle ligament damage, as we first feared. It's a shame, obviously you keep your fingers crossed, but it's going to be number of weeks before he's back with us unfortunately."
