AFC Bournemouth: Matt Ritchie vows best form is to come

Bournemouth winger Matt Ritchie says his best form is yet to come and has challenged his team-mates to continue their winning run at Birmingham.

Eddie Howe's side have won their last three games in the Championship.

Ritchie, 25, has made 15 appearances for the Cherries this season and has been a key figure in the team, but he says there is more to come from him.

"I've not quite yet (hit top form), the stop start nature of this season has been tough," he told BBC Radio Solent.

"I don't think I've been at my best yet, but I'm happy with how I'm playing."

Ritchie scored in Bournemouth's 4-2 victory at Birmingham last season and netted nine times last term, but the former Swindon man is without a goal this season and he admits it is time he got back on the scoresheet.

"I would have loved to have scored a goal or two but the team is winning so I can't complain and it's a great place to be," he said.

"We are winning games and pushing up the table. For the hard work we are putting in, we are getting the points, which is great."

Bournemouth lie eighth in the Championship and Ritchie has urged the team to maintain their form, adding: "We've been on a good run and hopefully we can stay on that run.

"If we keep our standards high, work hard in training and approach games with the right attitude, we can keep winning matches and pushing up that table."
