Belur in Mandya taluk of Mandya district recorded maximum rainfall of 29.5mm in Karnataka in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on October 23. Shettikeri hobli in Chikkanayakanahalli taluk of Tumkur district recorded maximum temperature of 39.1°C on October 22 at 2pm.

MANGALORE: Belur in Mandya taluk of Mandya district recorded maximum rainfall of 29.5mm in Karnataka in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on October 23. Shettikeri hobli in Chikkanayakanahalli taluk of Tumkur district recorded maximum temperature of 39.1°C on October 22 at 2pm. Halburga hobli in Bhalki taluk of Bidar district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 10.5°C on October 23 at 5.45am.
Maximum temperature rose at many places over Malnad region and south interior Karnataka; so at a few places over coastal Karnataka and changed little over remaining parts of the state. The minimum temperature fell at many places over north interior Karnataka and changed little over remaining parts of the state. More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 50% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 1% geographical area in the state.
Rainfall over the state is considered as isolated since 15% of the hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall of =2.5mm. Moderate rain was recorded in 70 gram panchayats; light rain in 112 GPs; very light rain in 138 GPs; and no rain in remaining 1,602 GPs.
Karnataka for period from October 17 to October 23 recorded deficit rainfall of 59%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 28.6mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 11.7mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on October 23, four geographical regions received 1mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 4.1mm, a 77% deficit departure from normal.
