A Worcester woman convicted of first-degree murder for the 2011 stabbing and beating death of a Rutland man in his own home has been sentenced to life in prison.LeeAnne Chesko was sentenced Wednesday in Worcester Superior Court to the mandatory term of life without parole for the July 2011 slaying of Francis Spokis.The Telegram & Gazette reports that Spokis' wife said in an impact statement that her husband's death was "senseless" and "extremely brutal."Prosecutors say the 27-year-old Chesko and her boyfriend killed Spokis, who owned an auto body shop in Worcester, during a robbery at his home.Investigators say footprints from shoes belonging to Chesko were found at the home.Spokis and Chesko had a prior relationship.
