Niall Horan and the other four members of boy band sensation One Direction last year shared a massive pay-pot of €35.7m.

New accounts just lodged by the band's ID Media Ltd with Companies House in the UK show the band was quick last year to convert their fans' adoration into hard cash with each of the band members paying themselves over €133,000-per-week last year.

Horan along with the other band members, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson paid themselves an average of €7.14m each for the year.

Pay last year for the just turned 21-year-old Horan makes the Mullingar man Ireland's best paid twenty-something.

The accounts disclose that the highest unnamed director was paid €7.15m last year.

The €35m for the five who serve as directors on the firm last year followed the band members paying themselves a total of £10m or €2.5m each on average for 2012.

The massive jump in pay for Horan and the others follows revenues sky-rocketing at ID Media Ltd from €22m in 2012 to €62m last year. This followed the band's sell-out world tour that included dates at Dublin's 3Arena in March of last year.

A hectic touring schedule has continued into 2014 when they commenced their money spinning Where We Are tour that commenced in April of this year taking in three sold out dates at Croke Park.

The band shows no sign of letting up and recently announced a 22-date stadium tour for Australia, Asia, the Middle East and South Africa between February and April of this year.

The band also added to their coffers last year with the release of their third album, Midnight Memories that became the biggest selling album worldwide in 2013, clocking up four million sales.

The band recently announced that they will be releasing their fourth album, 'Four' next month. Annual returns for 1D Media Ltd show that Horan has a 20pc equal share in the firm along with the other band members.
