1. Maharashtra assembly
The Shiv Sena on Wednesday said it would offer support to the BJP to form the next government in Maharashtra but appeared keen on getting an equitable share of power. Senior Sena leaders, who went to Delhi as envoys of party president Uddhav Thackeray, met BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan and assured him of their party’s support in government formation.

2. Black Money
A week after a high-level delegation of the revenue department met Swiss authorities in a bid to persuade them to assist with details of the 700-odd Indians who are reported to have bank accounts with the HSBC Bank in Geneva, the NDA government is set to send the first batch of 50 names to Switzerland.

3. IPL Scandal
The Justice Mukul Mudgal Committee’s final report, which will be submitted in the Supreme Court in the first week of November, is expected to confirm that Gurunath Meiyappan — son-in-law of ICC chairman N Srinivasan — was an important Chennai Super Kings (CSK) official and that he was involved in betting during the 2013 Indian Premier League season. These revelations will leave CSK’s future under a cloud and lead to crucial questions about the franchise’s existence in the league.
