Cops at 3 police stations on the lookout for 2 chain snatchers booked in their jurisdictions

“A case of snatching was registered at our police station on October 18. The victim, a local who was on her way to work, was robbed of her 20 gm gold managalsutra,” said senior police inspector Raghvendra Thakur of the Matunga police. Officers said the CCTV camera near the cinema captured the incident, based on which a sketch of the pillion rider was prepared.

“The suspect appears to be in his early thirties, has a stubble and wore a white shirt with red strips on the day of the incident,” said Assistant Police Inspector Mukund Yadav of Matunga police station.

The police said the unidentified duo went on to rob a senior citizen, who was waiting for a bus in Parel while on her way to a temple. “There was no one around the victim and the accused robbed her of her jewellery around 8 am,” said Assistant Police Inspector Suraj Mulani of the Bhoiwada police.

Finally, the duo is suspected of having robbed a middle-aged woman of her gold jewellery while she was out on a morning walk near the Government

Post Office (GPO), Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. The MRA police will soon  contact the Matunga police for the sketch of the accused.
“There were multiple witnesses at the time of the incident. We put their inputs together and now know that the accused were on a black motorcycle. The pillion rider had slightly long hair and wore a full-sleeve white shirt with red stripes, while the driver wore a pink helmet with a dark coloured t-shirt,” said Sub-Inspector Sharad Dhole of MRA police station. All the three police stations have registered separate cases against the duo under the Indian Penal Code.
