THANE: Policemen gathered at the office of the bomb detection and disposal squad at Wagle Estate on Wednesday to say a final goodbye to their working partner, Katrina.
The four-year-old canine died on duty due to a heat stroke Ganeshpuri hills in Bhiwandi during a search-and-rescue operation on Tuesday. Katrina had been deployed to track down a missing trekker.
“The heat in the tough terrain may have been tough for Katrina to bear and she collapsed after which she never came round,” said a senior police officer. Katrina was laid to rest with full honours and a gun salute.
