Englewood Hospital taps Iron Mountain to host its data center

Englewood Hospital will lease data center space within Iron Mountain Inc.’s underground data center located near Pittsburgh, Boston-based Iron Mountain said Wednesday.

Englewood Hospital and Medical Center is an acute care teaching hospital affiliated with the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Englewood, N.J.

The volume of data produced by the health care industry is growing rapidly, driven by the expansion of electronic records and the need to comply with government regulations, said Iron Mountain in a press release.

The release added that Iron Mountain can provide the health care industry with cost-effective ways to manage its data.

“Our data centers are designed to help organizations in highly regulated environments, like Englewood Hospital,” Iron Mountain senior vice president and general manager Mark Kidd said in a statement. “From employee training to the infrastructure of our buildings, we take a stringent approach to complying with industry-specific regulation.”
