An American company has developed a high-tech underpant that can protect you from electromagnetic radiation of mobile phones, according to a report.

Belly Armor, a Manhattan company, has developed the special underpants for the job.

The company will launch the product on Thursday.

The pants are made from a conductive textile made of fibres which can shield wearers from the radiation associated with phones and laptops, The Telegraph said citing the makers.

The underpants are priced at $49 (30).

The wearers will definitely have peace of mind even though there is no definitive evidence of harmful effects from radiation produced by wireless devices such as cellphones and wifi networks.

Experts, however, said that more needs to be done to understand the impact of low-level electromagnetic waves on sperm production.

A study at Exeter University earlier this year concluded that sperm number and movement were affected by keeping mobile phones in pockets - but could find no drop off in fertility, the daily added.
