Monk: We fine divers

Cape Town - Swansea manager Garry Monk has revealed that he fines any players in his squad who are guilty of diving, in training.

Monk was left fuming after Victor Moses blatant dive earned Stoke City a penalty against Swansea.

The manager did not mince his words during his post-match rant and labelled the Nigerian winger "a cheat".

Monk was particularly upset as his players know that diving is against the rules and has gone to extraordinary lengths to teach his players a lesson.

"We fine players for simulation, for surrounding refs, for questioning decisions given in training." Monk told the Daily Mirror.

"So when we follow those rules, but get punished on a weekend, it is hard for me to convince the players to keep following those rules.

"But I have said to them if we are going to win, we will win properly because you will get more satisfaction out of it.

"I don't believe in players going to ground if they have not been touched. If that were to happen I would deal with it afterwards.

"It is the way I want to do it, winning a game purely gives you more satisfaction then cheating to get a result."

Swamsea City sit in eighth position on the log after eight games but have failed to win any of their last five English Premiership games.

Monk and his well behaved side host Leicester City on Saturday, October 25.

The match at the Liberty Stadium kicks off at 18:30.
