Irregular RAW purchases: CBI files FIR against builders, SFF officers, beauracrats

High-altitude tents at the centre of the controversy.

CBI registers FIR against three directors of M/s Sai Baba Builders and Consultants, unknown officials of Cabinet Secretariat and Special Frontier Force (SFF) for repeatedly showing favours in the supply of pre-fabricated shelters for SFF at high altitude locations causing undue gain (2009-13) to the suppliers to the extent of Rs 22 crores approximately.

CBI on Wednesday conducted searches at three places (2 in Delhi and one in Kolkata) against three directors of M/s Sai Baba Builders (Shyam Sunder Bhatter , Mrs Manjari (wife of tainted ex-defence contractor S P Singh) and JPN Singh).

This is after a probe into irregularities in supply of high altitude tents to the SFF was given to the CBI by the PMO following an internal probe by R&AW.
