3d sex assault reported at Framingham State

Framingham State University police issued a community alert Tuesday after a female student reported that she was sexually assaulted on campus last week, according to a spokesman.

The alleged victim reported Monday that she was walking home from an off-campus party Friday night with a male acquaintance, who she said sexually assaulted her after they had arrived back on campus, university spokesman Dan Magazu said.

“The specific location [of the assault] is under investigation,” he said.

The male student has been suspended pending an investigation by university police, Magazu said. There is no immediate threat to the university community, the alert said.

“Safety is paramount to the university,” Magazu said. “We are reminding everyone to stay vigilant, particularly when they are going out at night.”

It was the third assault on a Framingham State student in less than a month.

The two previous episodes were reported by a female student who alleged she was assaulted on the night of Sept. 27 by an acquaintance at an off-campus residence and then again the following morning by a different acquaintance in a room on campus.

“In both incidents, we want to stress that neither of these were stranger danger,” Magazu said, adding that the victim of the most recent assault and the victim of the September assaults were attacked by people linked to the college.
