Rawalpindi -  Lahore High Court (LHC), Rawalpindi bench, on Tuesday issued notices to City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) and city police officer (CPO), and sought reply in two weeks in response to a writ petition filed by residents of Khayaban-e-Tanveer, Chaklala Scheme-III, against barriers erected on roads.
The writ petition was filed by Khalid Latif Malik and four other residents of Khayaban-e-Tanveer through Malik Tahir Mehmood Advocate. The petitioners made district coordination officer (DCO), town municipal officer (TMO) Potohar Town and city police officer (CPO) as respondents.
Taking up the writ petition, the court issued notices to all respondents and sought reply from them in two weeks.
In the writ petition, the petitioners apprised the court that some people of Khayaban-e-Tanveer had illegally closed 10 roads by erecting barriers and other stuff owing to which the residents had been facing a lot of troubles. They added that they had lodged complaints with TMA Potohar Town and CPO for opening of these roads but no action had been taken. The court accepted the plea for hearing.
