Zoe Jordan hits right formula with racing designs

Her AW14 'Chicane' collection, which went on sale at a pop-up store at Havana in Dublin's Donnybrook last night, was influenced by what she saw with her father Eddie on the motor racing circuit.

"It didn't take me too long to find sources of inspiration with the old racing overalls in the garage, helmets and old team jumpers.

"It was a really good starting point, a fun trip down memory lane," said Zoe who is married and a mum to two young daughters.

"The formative years, between eight and 12 years of age, we would have a lot of racing drivers board with us so it wasn't just dad's job, it was a way of life for all us."

Zoe recalled how Johnny Herbert "used to do our hair and put bows in it. Jean Alesi was another favourite, a very generous man and we were really fond of Andrea de Cesaris who sadly passed away this month."

Zoe loved the cashmeres and pieces with cut-outs on shoulders and elbows, but her favourite piece is her biker jacket in cracked silver.

Wearing the jacket, she said: "It's a great colour, not too shiny and the more you wear it, the better it looks."
