Full-back Maynor Figueroa has returned to Wigan on a one-month loan deal from Hull.
The 31-year-old Honduras international played 200 times for the Latics and won an FA Cup winners' medal during a five-year spell before he left for Hull in 2013 after Wigan were relegated.
Figueroa was a regular fixture for Hull under former Wigan boss Steve Bruce last season but has yet to appear in a top-flight contest this term.
The defender was selected in manager Uwe Rosler's Wigan starting line-up for Tuesday night's game against Millwall.
"Maynor is a very experienced player," Rosler told Wigan's official website.
"He knows and understands the club well and his presence gives us a real shot in the arm."
