Little Big Town were formally inducted into the Grand Ole Opry after getting invited to join while on stage last week. Vince Gill and Little Jimmy Dickens handled the induction ceremony, with the former talking about what the honor means.

"The word 'family' really means something out here. It really does," Gill began.

"You'll make friends like I have with this man right here," he continued, nodding to Dickens. "You'll be so be blessed by the friends you'll make out here, and they'll last your entire life. Welcome to the family, and remember to come here as often as you can."

LBT's first public performance was at the Opry in 1999.
"This was the first place we ever played in front of human beings in a public way," Phillip Sweet reminisced to Rolling Stone after the induction.

"We literally knew three songs," added Kimberly Schlapman.
