Rocca-Benigni Duo - 'Upset'

Experience the exciting folk jazz of clarinetist Paolo Rocca and Abruzzi diatonic accordionist Fiore Benigni playing Satie, Bach, Rodgers and Hammerstein and their own compositions, which like their playing borrow equally from Jazz and Italian Folk Music.

We'll also hear another Italian accordion and clarinet duo - Gianluigi Trovesi and Gianni Coscia and Gianluigi improvising on Purcell as he joins L'Arpeggiata Christina Pluhar on the title track of their latest album, Music For a While. We hear Fiore's teacher Ricardo Tesi with his Balkan composition and Kavisha Mazzella with a song from Abruzzo.

Lyrics:

Music for a while
Shall all your cares beguile.
Wond'ring how your pains were eas'd
And disdaining to be pleas'd
Till Alecto free the dead
From their eternal bands,
Till the snakes drop from her head,
And the whip from out her hands.
