EU-Iran trade volume hits USD5.85b in 8M


(MENAFN) Data released by Eurostat showed that trade volume between Iran and the 28 EU member-state reached USD5.85 billion in the January-August period of 2014, Iran Daily reported.

The trade value of Iran-EU exchange in the first eight months of 2014 grew by 15 percent compared to the same period of last year, which amounted to USD5.07 billion.

According to the data, the total value of EU imports from the Islamic Republic in August 2014 amounted to USD102.1 million, indicating a 77 percent increase compared with August 2013.

"The EU and Iran have a long history of economic transactions and a high record in trade and financial affairs," a Greek politician and member of the EP said in a statement.
