NORWAY GAS-Flows firm slightly, could dip from Weds on outage
* Norway's pipeline gas exports total 323 mcm/day
* Langeled flows to Britain steady at 60 mcm/day
* Outage to cut output by 24 mcm/day from Wednesday
OSLO, Oct 21 (Reuters) - Norwegian natural gas flows to Europe rose slightly
on Tuesday on stronger flows to France, but a planned outage could reduce them
from Wednesday, data from gas system operator Gassco showed.
Supplies through the Langeled pipeline, Britain's main subsea gas import
route, were steady at around 60 million cubic metres (mcm) by 1130 GMT.
A planned gas field outage is expected to reduce Norwegian production
capacity by 24 mcm/day for a week from Wednesday, Gassco said.
"Given spare capacity of only about 30 mcm/day on the Norwegian continental
shelf, we could see lower Norwegian exports to Europe," analysts at Thomson
Reuters Point Carbon said.
The following table shows Norwegian pipeline gas flows, measured in mcm per
day, compared with the previous session's average:
Destination Real time Pvs session Change
average (mc)
Britain 86 85 1
Germany & Netherlands 145 144 1
France 50 47 3
Belgium 42 42 0
Total 323 318 5
NOTE: Pipeline gas export figures are based on gas fed into the system at a
certain time and calculated as a daily average. Levels can vary throughout the
day as producers adjust the amount of gas they export, according to changing
nominations, or orders, from customers.
