Mercedes-Benz CLA Imported Into India For Homologation

This year, Mercedes Benz India launched the CLA45 AMG, the entry level AMG model on sale in India. Now, as already known, Mercedes-Benz will also be launching the CLA class in India to rival the Audi A3 sedan. Now, as per the import export database website Zauba, the CLA sedan has been imported into India for homologation purposes.

Akin to the recently launched GLA class, the CLA sedan will also be sold in petrol and diesel variants. The petrol will be badged as CLA 200 and the oil burner will be badged as 200 CDI. The CLA 200 will be powered by a 2 liter turbocharged petrol mill which churns out 181 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. The CLA 200 CDI will be using a 2.2 liter turbo diesel motor which cranks out 134 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. Both the motors will come mated a 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission which will send power to the front wheels of the car. The CLA will come with Economy, Sport and Manual modes. Riding on the Modular Front Architecture (MFA),  the CLA class will share parts with the A-Class, B-Class and GLA Class.

The equipment and safety features on offer include the COMAND infotainment system, 7 airbags, ABS+EBD, hill start assist, ESP, traction control and anti-skid regulation.

Similar to the GLA, the CLA class sedan will also be sold in India via the CKD route. Launch will happen early next year. Expected starting price for the CLA class will be under INR 30 lakh. Stay tuned to Motoroids for more dope on the CLA class India launch.
