While the votes ended up at close to 350 000 SPTC Best Female, Most Popular and Artist of the Year artist Mayibongwe Mthimkhulu recorded most votes.

She was able to come up with 179 687 votes on her own.

It was not clear by yesterday   how ACASWA would spread the money they made through the voting system as they are also expected to share some of the amount with The Swaziland Post and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) especially for using their fixed lines for the public to be able to vote.

ACASWA refuses to divulge money usage

MBABANE – Mhlonishwa Motsa, ACASWA President confirmed the final figures of the votes saying they were impressed with the total number of votes they got.
“We are happy that we were able to reach and exceed our 300 000 target. We were impressed with the way the artists were pushing their fans. I can say that the awards were indeed a success,” he said.

When asked how the money would be spread across, Motsa asked not to comment on this matter.
“Please allow me not to comment on that aspect,” he said.
Ronnie Dlamini, ACASWA Public Relations Officer, said it was too early for them to say how the money would be distributed.

Responsible

“It is best that we leave that to the office responsible. Once everything has been finalised, we will then be in a position of issuing a statement to the public,” he said.
He thanked all those who contributed in making the event a success saying the event was a success because everyone played his or her part on the day.
