Pindi police recover abducted child, arrest three kidnappers

Rawalpindi - Police have recovered a child, who was kidnapped soon after his birth from labour room of Benazir Bhutto Hospital some two years ago, and arrested three kidnapers, including two women.
“The recovered child was identified as Hamad while the three captors were Shakila wife of Muhammad Shakil, resident of Abbotabad, Sifarish Khan son of Arib Khan of Chak Jalal Din and Shamsa Kanwal daughter of Shaukat Ali, resident of Jhelum,” disclosed SP Rawal Division Karamat Ullah Malik at a press briefing held at his office here on Monday.
He was flanked by DSP Waris Khan Circle Taimoor Khan, SHO Police Station Waris Khan Malik Allah Yar and other team members, who made efforts for recovery of missing child.
According to SP Karamat Ullah Malik, a mason namely Muhammad Yaqoob of Kallat Syedan lodged a complaint on 10/9/2012 with Police Station Waris Khan stating that he brought his wife Aqsa Bibi to Gyne Ward of BBH where she gave birth a baby child. “The doctors shifted the mother and new born baby in Post Maternity Ward on Bed number 13,” he mentioned in the application. He stated that at 3:30am a woman came and took the baby along with her impersonating herself as midwife to inject the baby. “But, later the woman did not come back and kidnap the baby,” he added.
Police, taking action, filed a case on 10/9/2012 and started investigation SP said that City Police Officer constituted a team comprising DSP Taimoor Khan and SHO PS Waris Khan, who after hectic efforts, managed to trace missing child. The child was recovered during a raid and three kidnappers were also arrested, SP said. The child was also reunited with the parents, he said.
Replying to a question, the SP said that police arrested 427 culprits of 126 gangs and recovered Rs30.5 million looted amount, 3 tolas of gold, 20 cars, 44 motorcycles and heavy cache of arms and narcotics from their possession during year of 2014.
