At the Foo Fighters show at Cubby Bear last week, Dave Grohl teased the crowd about a possible show across the street at Wrigley Field some day — following the leads of friends Paul McCartney and Pearl Jam. “Maybe we’ll even play Wrigley Field one day,” he said. “We’ll be back soon, I hope. Might not be at the Cubby Bear.”

He wasn’t trolling.

Announced Monday, the band’s “first-ever U.S. stadium headline show” will happen at Wrigley Field on Aug. 29, 2015. Tickets go on sale Monday (Oct. 27) at 10 a.m., more info on pricing below. The announcement also teases a “sure-to-be extensive” arena and festival tour to support the forthcoming “Sonic Highways” album, out Nov. 10 (of this year, to be clear).

So … that rules out Foo Fighters for Lollapalooza 2015, huh?

Update: Announced Wednesday, Chicago’s Urge Overkill, Naked Raygun and Cheap Trick will open for Foos at Wrigley. Expect a lot of band switch-ups throughout the night.

“Reserved tickets ($75 & $50 with a 6-ticket limit) and General Admission field tickets ($75 with a 4-ticket limit) can be purchased online at www.Cubs.com/foo or by phone at 800-THE-CUBS. Fan club pre-sales beginning 10:00am Friday, October 24 and running through 5:00pm Sunday, October 26.”
